A Nepali wedding photobook made in Kathmandu
How to turn your Nepali wedding photos into a printed wedding photobook with Soouvenir, from the ring exchange to the reception, delivered in Kathmandu Valley.
By the Studio7 min read

A Nepali wedding lasts several days and produces thousands of photos: the engagement and ring exchange, the mehendi, the swayambar, the janti arriving, sindoor and pote, the reception and the quiet family moments in between. Soouvenir helps you turn those photos into a printed wedding photobook that you design yourself in your browser. We print it, bind it, check it by hand and deliver it in Kathmandu Valley.
Can I make my own wedding album online in Nepal?
Yes. With Soouvenir you can make your own wedding photobook online in Nepal using photos from your photographer, your phone and your guests' phones. You pick a ready-made wedding layout, your photos fall into place, and you add names, dates and a few words. We print and deliver it in Kathmandu Valley, and you see the delivery date before you pay.
Do I still need my photographer's album?
Many couples keep the large album from their photographer and also make Soouvenir books for the things that album leaves out. Good examples are a book of your guests' candid phone photos, a separate mehendi book, or a smaller copy for each set of parents and grandparents. A photobook is lighter, easier to share and easier to make more than one copy of. Read photobook vs photo album for the full comparison.
How should I organise a Nepali wedding photobook?
Follow the days of the wedding in order, and give each a chapter:
- Engagement and ring exchange. The families meeting, the rings, the first portraits together.
- Mehendi and haldi. Hands, colour, music and dancing. Detail photos work beautifully here.
- The wedding day. Getting ready, the janti, the ceremony, sindoor and pote, blessings from elders.
- The reception. Portraits with guests, the stage, the food, the dance floor.
- The family. Grandparents, cousins, the people who cooked and carried and organised.
Our guide to a wedding photobook from start to finish covers each step in more depth.
How many photos should a wedding photobook have?
Choose the best photos rather than all of them. Two to four photos per page works well, with one large hero photo on most spreads. Out of a few thousand wedding photos, a beautiful book often uses 80 to 150. See how to pick the right number of pages.
Can I collect photos from guests?
Yes, and you should. Guests catch moments the photographer misses: the bride laughing with her sisters, the groom's friends at the janti, the aunties dancing. Ask guests to send original files through Google Drive rather than Viber or Messenger, which shrink photos. Soouvenir warns you before you order if any photo is too small to print well.
What paper and cover suit a wedding book?
A hardcover with a single strong portrait or a simple title suits most wedding books. Matte or silk paper keeps red saris, gold jewellery and skin tones looking rich without glare. See how to pick a paper finish and why matte paper is making a comeback.
Can I order copies for both families?
Yes. You choose the number of copies when you order, so both families, and grandparents too, can have their own book. Each copy is delivered to an address in Kathmandu Valley, with more of Nepal coming soon.
When is the best time to make a wedding photobook?
Start as soon as you have your photographer's edited photos, while the names and stories are fresh. Wedding season in Nepal peaks in Mangsir, Magh and Falgun, and a book makes a lovely first-anniversary gift if you leave it a little later.
